IMPROVING THE LIVES OF BLACK PEOPLE THROUGH
AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION
Part II Program Standards “What you should believe”
We are God’s chosen people; we are descendants of the people of Africa
Because of this special relationship, God calls out to us and desires to have a special relationship with
us. It is because of this relationship, we prosper
Because we are descendants of Kings, we are required to behave like a King. We must focus on our
Higher Power first.
We understand how the world views Black Americans (and other people of color) and we vow to break the
stereotypes
We commit to the principles that turn Boys to Men.
1. Dedication – devoted or committed to something. Showing up on time every day.
2. Discipline – the ability to behave in a controlled and calm way even in a difficult or stressful
situation. Mental self-control used in directing or changing behavior, learning something or training
for something. The practice or methods of ensuring that people obey rules by teaching them to do
so and pushing them if they do not. Doing the right thing at the right time.
3. Determination – firmness of purpose, will or intention. Wanting something so bad, you will do
anything to get it.
4. Heart Spirit – the capacity for courage and determination. Someone’s essential character. What
you have inside of you as a person.
5. Optimism – the tendency to believe, expect or hope that things will turn out well. The attitude of
somebody who feels positive or confident. Always finding the best of every situation.
6. Resilience – the ability to recover quickly from setback. Never quitting
7. Unify – the state of being one!
